Wilkie’s history

Collection

Wilkie's story begins in 1907, when a post office opened on February 2 under the name Glenlogan. On October 1, 1908, it was renamed Wilkie, after Daniel Robert Wilkie, president of the Imperial Bank of Canada from 1906 to 1914, a backer of the Canadian Pacific Railway and a member of the Canadian Art Club. He and his family lived at a Toronto heritage property called Seven Oaks.
